Rear brake master

Can anyone help me get the correct rear master rebuild kit? 1998 Pitbull. Factory controls. No Big Dog parts sellers go back to 98. All stop at 99. Thanks in advance!

I have a 2000 BigDog and it is just a Harley Davidson rear master cylinder rebuild kit. You can get them from J&P Cycles. Pretty sure that’s where I bought mine.

I actually think it’s ultima but they list two sizes. 5/8 and 3/4 bore.

What's the size / bore measuring? Banjo bolt /out going/ pressure? I need to rebuild one too, & if parts are correct will do second.

5/8 is what I used. I believe that in a 4 pot caliper which your PM’s should be you can use either. The smaller the bore the more pressure at the piston. I like a stiff pedal. 3/4 doesn’t hit as hard at the piston and can sometimes make the pedal feel mushy if you know what I mean.

Well….pulled the trigger on the 5/8 V-Twin manufacturing kit. I’ll let you know if it’s correct! Mittens,if you already got it let me know how it worked and maybe a pic of your master. Thanks all

I have not ordered but will stand buy to see if yours fits. Both my bikes have the same rear master. Pics of both. Think my chopper one is leaking.

So to do the rebuild. You just pop the snap ring out the back & slide all the old seals/ piston out, replace, & snap ring? Then bleed?

Mittens…..5/8 is too small for mine. Going to order the 3/4. I’ll let you know!

Glad I waited. Ally cat. When you have it apart measure the snap ring or something from outside so I can get a good guess on if same please. I have calipers ready.

Mittens….3/4 is it on mine. Took some trial and error to bleed but finally got it by cracking the banjo bolt in the front!

Good deal. Put calipers in mine & I think they both are 3/4 as well. Do you have link for exact one you used?
