Rear Brake Issue

So, gotta love the heat, feels like Death Valley all over!
I'm riding, doing about 40 or so when the bike starts to pull down like i've just got on the rear brakes but I haven't even touched them. I pull over and the rear wheel is locked solid by the brake. Caliper is red hot as is the rotor. Let it cool for 15 min and just before pulling onto my street same thing happens again. The brake pedal was solid with no movement at all. Any thoughts? Anyone else ever had this happen?

Foot brake master cylinder is getting hot from the exhaust and swelling...take the heat shield off the exhaust and put exhaust wrap on it then put the shield back on...this will.also help the cam sensor from going bad prematurely
I'll try that, but why after 18 yrs would the exhaust heat suddenly be a problem? I pulled the caliper, removed the pistons and cleaned, they move fine. Im leaning toward the master cylinder and have ordered a OEM rebuild kit, should be here in a couple of days. I"ll post the results.....
