Really BDM??? Really?!

EZ

USAF ATC
Guess I just need to vent but a little story about my tank. It has been at BDM for 3 months getting the warrenty work done on the Fuel Cap and bung so it wont leak fuel. The tank was damaged in the shipment so we/Strokers paid for them to repaint the tank due to shipping damage. Well, after three months we got the tank back and the forgot to put the ghost scallops on my tank!!!!! They painted it just plain old red! lol Couldn't believe it! I was at a lose for words to say the least. Amy calls BDM and they seemed a little "apprehensive" to fix it, something about there not being a BDM anymore and said they would get back to us. :job: They had the tank for a long time before they shut down their doors and we paid them for a service! Amy is going to get Rick involved to get this taken care of but I mean wow....:bang:

Hope this works out for the best, big difference in the two looks, and I can see where you would be disappointed.

Ouch, I would hope they'd take care it! What a slap in the face! Best of luck dealing with it.

Thats just not right. Our local paint shops down the street wouldn't even have done that. If they were not going to do the job right, they should have just shipped your tank back to you so you could get someone to paint it correctly. What a total waste of time. If this is the way there going to run there new company......they will not be around very long. I know they went bankrupt.....but 3 months and this is what you get. I would of paid it out of my pocket before I sent it to you like that. What a shame.

Hey Gerald, you may want to talk to air-brush ed and see if he could add the ghost flames for a reasonable price. Sounds like BDM was planning to fold and quit giving a shit early. Sorry for your frustration. I'd be pissed too. good luck.

Dude, regardless of the current company name, you paid in full to have it fixed before hand. This is very disappointing!

Another round please
Sad, but it happens all the time when a company goes under. BDM is no more. Gone. Just get it fixed by someone else. Just bad luck and timing. I would not be happy either, but really BDM is no more. Time to ride.

At the time of BDM closing my tank and front fender had arrive there two days before the closing. It ttok me a month before anyone( Adriam Williams) would respond to my calls. Finally the switchboard put me thru to Mike Simmons the President. Within an hour Mike returned my call and put the tank & fender at the front desk for Air-Brush Ed to repair.

In short I would contact Mike Simmons personally a real standup guy. Then get Air-Brush Ed to do the work.

That sucks.
I hope they try to do something to make it right.
I would ask to be reimbursed to have someone else finish the job and send it to Ed or another quality minded painter in your area.

My understanding is that BDM held out for remaining open until the Bank actually shut them down. They struggled till the final second trying to find a way to remain viable. They were opening dealerships internationally with the hopes that they could find a marketplace with the US economy in tatters. They were launching a less expensive chopper, and selling off non critical stock to raise money to continue on.

Don't thing anybody at BDM tried to screw with you, but were trying everything to remain afloat, but when the bank pulled the plug, they were done.

I seem to be saying this alot lately... I'll fix it!
Yes, I currently have 2 bigdogs to fix right now (and a complete Harley). If this is any indication of things to come, I'll probably be fixing alot of these paint jobs. I don't mind!!!

Bummer...sounds like you got caught "in the gap" when they were closing their doors.
It's unfortunate, but I wouldn't stew over it any longer - won't do you any good. :bang:

As stated above, I'd move on and contact Airbrush-Ed to do the job right for you. :yesnod:
