I'd be in on this. I think it is a great idea as long as there are conditions in place to prove the need... You're a good man, Franco

We have had several worthy donations for people with a real need, with great success.
Easy to support a member with a real need, hard to support someone
on a burned bridge

I like the idea. I think more people would be more likely to donate if they received something in return. For example, raise the price of one of the patches, shirt or something by $2.

That's sad to think people would help because of getting something in return. That is not why we help our fellow man...it's not for what's in it for us (praise, etc.), it's because it's the right thing to do.

I know for a fact that this forum will jump at the chance to help a real need if/when it arises.

I totally agree that it is sad but it was just a thought to try and get more participation if needed.

Bikers are extremely charitable people. I spend most of my time and money on charity work but the charities that I chose are based on health and basic needs. To me a bike (unless it's your only means of transport) is a luxury item which I feel very blessed to own one. I promise if a member was in need, this group would jump to their help in a heartbeat. I've seen this first hand. No need to formally set something up...when needed, it will happen. And I'm not by any means saying this proposed idea of Franco's is a bad one. I commend Franco and anyone who is trying to make the world a better place. Random acts of kindness can change the world!
