re threading a hole

I stripped the hole in the handlebar control housing and I need to re thread it , what should I use for a tap , the next size up , it was a 1/4 20 before I fucked it up, please advise :flag:

either is ok. You can go up one size or heli coli it

Thanks Ill go the next size up and if that doesn't work then the heli coil.

I ended up re threading , Im not all that familiar with heli coils but there wasn't much metal left from the edge of the hole , I couldn't have gone any wider.
