Rock and Roll....... Let me know a day, time, and location. First round is on me. I assume there are others on this site who may be able to make the rendezvous at either or both locations. Let's party!

Note: You're welcome to bring a few of the women pictured above....
Loop me in on the plan, depending on what days I will be around. Would like to meet the man/myth/legend/chick hoist!

Gotta get my bike back up and running first though! Definatly riding this weekend weather in Dallas looks perfect!!! Unless of course I got myself into trouble :bang:

Yea, what's up with that??? LOL

I was waiting for that great trip report, and all we get is pics of Ray picking up chicks! Come on Ray, bring out the inner journalist and tell the whole story! Hell, I thought we would at least hear about the passing of the torch! ...Ray stays fueled up the whole week and BBC runs out of gas! Hehe!

RaysTrip Report of Daytona

Alright I got the message!!!!

I get all packed up and am loaded down ready for the trip down to Daytona. It's only about 90 miles. Its a nice clear sunny day so I get through town and to 295 South headed to 95 South. Once I get on 95 I kick it up to about 85 or so and the traffic is doing 90 so what the hell.......

About 75 minutes later I'm pulling off at the International Speedway Blvd and go right to the first light then left. I see a sign for Crazy Horse Campground that points into the KOA, I ride around there and don't find it so ride back out and across to the Flea Market area and still can't find it so get back on the side road and go South for about a 1/4 mile and see a sign to the Crazy horse. I pull off there and it starts raining!!! I don't mean a light rain, it starts pouring.
I drive down this road and the campground is on the right but I don't know how to get into it but I see the BBT (Big Brown Turd) of BBChopper. I go a little further and all the traffic is pulling into the Flea market here so I follow them then figure out this isn't where I want to go so back back out and yell at the guards there "Hey how the hell do I get into the Crazy Horse Campground". They say to continue down the road then turn right onto the dirt road and ride about 200 yards to the checkin area. Oh great, its pouring ass raining and I have to ride down a dirt road. So I back back out in to the street and ride down and turn right into the campground. I get to the entrance after slipping and sliding my way in and go in to get my pass. I come back out and when I go to ride in the gate they ask me where I'm going, I say I'm going to BBC's RV spot. They say wait a minute so I sit there in the pouring rain. They say I can come in but I say I'll wait, I didn't think it was going to be all damn day. Finally I said I know where I'm going so let me in and then they said we know where it is now and they escorted me in on an ATV. We get to BBC's RV and I'm soaked by now. Debbie (BBC's wife) comes out and I give her a big hug and tells me to get in out of the rain. We sit and chat for a while and when the rain lets up a little I set up my tent between his RV and Purpledogs truck camper and trailer. I get set up in about 15 minutes and get my gear inside the tent to dry out.
Soon Purpledog and his girlfriend show up and we party through the night.
Next day it still black clouds and looks like it really going to pour but doesn't for a while. Still BBC and Debbie take off on the Harley and Purpledog and his girlfriend Ashley take off, I tell them both I'm just going to sit here.
BBC gets back and it starts pouring again and we are wondering about Purpledog (Jim). They finally come back late from the Iron Horse Saloon and they are drenched.
Next day (Sunday) is more of the same but the guys take off and I decide to stay. I've done my share of riding in the rain. I'm out standing around just watching the sites across the road at the Flea Market and I see a K9 pull in off the street, I wave and the guy sees me and he come in and pulls up and its Abaco21 from Tampa. We chit chat for a while and I introduce him to Jim and Ashley but BBC hadn't gotten back yet so he takes off after signing my banner.
We party into the night and cook up some food telling stores and such.
Monday morning we wake up to sunshine, first I've seen of it since getting in Saturday. Colt and Malissa are coming over as well as a couple others and we are going to ride over to the River something or other so I pack up my gear tent and all and load up my bike. The weather is great now and looks like its going to be a wonderful ride. It was too. We get to the River Cafe or whatever its called and have lunch and Jim and the guys convince me to come back and spend a few more days with them so I do.
We get back and I set my tent back up in a few minutes and we have a great time. We ride every day going here and there but I stay out of town. We did get down to Carls Speed shop on Beach street to take advantage of some of the clothing sales we heard about. I got a bike work shirt BD shirt for $25 so that was good. Then we road up Main st and looked around then back to the campground.
Come Thursday Jim and Ashley get me to go down town with them. We get there around dark and we are there until about 2 or 2:30 in the morning parked on a side street down by Froggy's. We had been to several places and were just having a great time. Its time to go and we get back to the bikes and Ashley is putting some clothes on cause she wasn't wearing much (sorry Jim!!!). About 10 minutes later we start the bikes up and getting ready to pull out. Nothing has gone by the whole time, the street was deserted. I go to pull out and all I heard was this blaring sound the cops have on there bikes, not the siren but that blast thing! I guess I had pulled out right in front of two motorcycle cops......... I swear I looked both ways when I pulled out. Where they came from I have no idea but guess Jim saw them and he didn't pull out. I ran them off the street. The first guy rides down the street and turns around the second guy pulls up to me and asks me how much I have had to drink? But then the first came back and yells at me asking where I was staying. I said at the Crazy Horse Campground and he says "You better get back there safely". I said yes sir and they took off. Geuss they were on a call and had to get somewhere otherwise I would be in jail. :bang:
Anyway we get back safe and sound and I don't go into town again. :loony:
Friday we hook up for the Group Ride that JR03 has listed and we have about six bikes and a couple harleys. Me, BBC and Debbie, Jim and Ashley, Colt and Melisa and Abaco21, JR and Finn plus a three German guys that rode with us part way.
We ride out and have a great lunch then after that we come back. I'm riding side by side with Jim (Purpledog) the whole time. We get to a gas station and gas up then discuss getting on the freeway and getting of on LPG? Blvd or the one before the International Speedway cause it's always crowded. So here we go Jim and I leading out and we get on the onramp and Jim opens it up. You have to understand he is running these two carbs on his bike and that thing goes. I still have my little E carb on mine.
Soon we are up to about 110 mph and I see the exit sign for our exit so I slow and move over to the inside lane but Jim keeps going so I pull back out and open it up to catch him. We were sure flying down the road. The next exit was the International Speedway one and I was back up to him and we pulled off. I'm wondering now after we were doing probably over 120 mph what happened to BBC, JR, Abaco, Finn and whoever else was with us. As we get off at the exit I look in my mirror and lo and behold there they all are. They kept up with us. I was truly amazed. So we get back to camp and cook up some great food and tell stories all night. In the meantime Finns headlight blew out so now it's dark and BBC pulls out a lamp and I pull out my tools and get my headlamp kit out and we get his ring off, I go back to my pack and pull out my spare bulb and we get it in and buttoned back up. There was another post on here about how many guys does it take to change a light bulb! :whoop: But we fixed him up. What a night.
Hey guys, nobody repeats my Laughlin story right?

I won't tell you about BBC running out of gas somewhere along the way, he can tell you about that. I was lucky this time I guess, I didn't run out or have someone drain my tank as they did in Sturgis a couple years ago.

So I go to Daytona for 2 days and end up staying 8 days, what a trip it was. Met some great friends and rode some good rides.

Finally it's Saturday morning and just Pablo me and Jim so we decide after I packed up all my gear that we would ride through the northern end of the loop and cross over to A1A and ride up the coast. It was in my direction and they came up almost all the way home with me. We had a great ride though the loop section but we had this older couple on a dresser in front of us and on one of the slow hard turns they run off the road. Well the three of us immediately pull over and offer assistance. The bike is laid over and the guys Jeff gets up but his arms are all damaged and bleeding everywhere, his wife is laying on the ground immobile and looks like she has busted her leg and is crying.
Jim and I go over and pic the big bike up, damn those things are heavy.
Some others have pulled over also and we asked if anyone has called 911. Some girl has her phone out and calling them. I see Jeff the Vietnam Vet is bleeding all over so I run over to my pack and pull out my baby wipes and start cleaning him up. We walk over to his bike and he pulls out a first aid kit and we get some wrap and after I put some soothing baby wipes on his arms we get him all wrapped up. Meanwhile Jim and Paul are comforting the lady that is crying about her leg. A female Sheriff arrives and walks up and asks if anyone has called 911?????? We say yes and she gets on her radio and does whatever it is she does. I ask Jeff if he was ok and he said he was. I asked him if he was ok with a Navy guy fixing him up as he was an Army Vet :D He said he was ok so I told him we were going to leave now and we took off. Hope his wife is ok.

We get up to St Augustine and pull into the Oasis for lunch and park the three big dogs right inside in front of the booths outside and then a pack of Scottish bagpipe guys come out and start parading around in there kilts right in front of our bikes. So lady from the second story balcony throughs me some beads cause I had a red shirt on and I needed green. Who new is was St Paddies day?

Anyway after a long week and some lunch we take off and get over to I-75 and pull over to a gas station. I give Paul and Jim a big hug and tell them what a great time I had and we take off them going south and me going north. I still had 50 miles to go and they had a bit more.

What a week it was. You have all ready seen a bunch of pictures so no need to post more. Sorry if I missed anyone that we met. Hope everyone got to sign the BDB banner. Will miss all those guys and gals as I pack up now and get ready to move back to Kalifornia. Hopefully it won't be another 4 yrs Paul till I come back. I met BBC in Daytona back in 08 when I shipped my bike there and rode it back to Washington State. Hopefully I will see a bunch of you guys in Sturgis. Thanks for the ride

So I split my Daytona time between my cigar bar buds, the RS Warrior riders, and of course the Dogs. You read Ray's post and you won't have to wonder where I had the best time. What a great group of people.

Ray, another great report and an awesome trip. After the rain cleared out, it ended up being the best spring Bike Week I've been too down there. Ashley and I had a great time meeting you and everyone else, sharing some great rides and good times. I don't remember any stories, much less having ever been on a blackhawk - no worries....:D

Ray and I rode side-by-side throughout many of our excursions around Daytona; we stayed in sync most of the time pretty well, so when I watched what happened that evening when he pulled out in front of those cops and there wasn't anything I could do about it (happened so fast), I was like ohh F*ck...:bang: He was on my left and turning out left; I suspect he couldn't see 'em around my slightly longer bike and 2-up with their position maybe. Couple that with the fact those jokers were rolling too fast with no indicators on through what was basically a parking lot, made for a bad situation that we are all lucky didn't turn out worse than it did. Those guys were flying and just as guilty of the situation as anyone else - they should have known better.

Bottom line, we had a great time, got some sweet pics (and some video clips), new friends and awesome memories.

Thanks for a great time and ride well Ray.....:cheers::cheers:
