Ed is spot on.
I never use "bondo" brand. I feel it has too much resin and clogs sanpaper too fast.
Evercoat make a much better product and is not that much more $
if you get the dent really close you can use evercoat metal glaze. It is a much thinner finishing plastic.

Thanks Eric! I WON'T (try this). Better be careful man. The Taliban will be after you to build them IED's for roadside bombs!:loony:

To the rest of you thanks for all the great ideas and material suggestions for this fix.

Oh, Fibersnake. Where did you get that suction puller and how do you create that much suction for them to work?

Shovelcowboy
Well actually suction would be wrong, it actually uses hot glue to adhear a little disc to the dent and then using an H-Bar allows it to be pulled out by backing off a screw. Cheap tool that they used to sell on TV add but you can buy better ones from like Eastwood and other suppliers. Let me see if I can find you a link.

Here is a decent one and the one I used was a smaller kit and worked. It took time and patience and may not work for everything, but all said for the one I had, it did work and when all was said and done, very little filler was needed, and just enought to smooth it all out evenly.
