Rattle when accelerating

Was out riding today and noticed a rattle when I accelerate. No rattle with even throttle and steady speed, only on acceleration and it seems to be coming from the rear end. I checked everything I could get to and all is tight. The only thing I can think of is the floating brake, but it never rattled before. Any clues as to what it can be?

May want to check the pins and circlips that hold the floating rotor to the rotor hub. They can wear and not bad idea to replace with new pins and circlips if they are worn or in questions. Other than that not a clue, but let us know what you find out.

also check your pipe hanger bracket if you haven't already. could be cracked.

Had the same with my K9, it was the exhaust bracket which had cracked at the weld.

gas tank - mine was rattling against the frame near the seat for quite a while before I realised where the noise was coming from

it is sometimes difficult to hear exactly where these noises are coming from

If your belt is dry it will "rattle" at acceleration. Silicone spray thoroughly and it will stop if that's the problem.

Yeah but that also would be a temp. If your belt is causing it because it’s jumping you have an alignment issue. I know I had that and it’s a common problem that ties to the squeal problem…..

Thanks to all for your help. I checked the exhaust brackets, they are OK. Gas tank seems fine, checked the mounts, OK. I'll probably spray a little graphite (cable lube) on the belt to see if it stops. If it does, but comes back, then I'll look at the alignment.

hmm, broken weld on vent tube?? hade the same problem on my 04 DT Chopper!!!

Put some dry lube on the belt and pully and took it out this morning. Solved the problem. Thanks for all or your help!
