I think we need a new section on the forum titled Rants and bitching about BigDogs. I do feel for the guys here who have serious problems with their bikes and some their feelings are justified, really frames shouldn't crack and pulleys break, but is that BD's fault or suppliers from which Bigdog got their parts from.

I have had my fair share of problems with my Mastiff, but I still love it. When and if it becomes too much for me I will quietly sell it, I will not come on this forum and trash it.

This forum has been invalueable for me on learniing how to care and maintain my bike, plus I have several new friends i have met here. Thanks to all who give their expeirence and knowledge here

Don't forget the best option yet... just ignore the things that you don't like. I don't really recall anyone coming here and trashing the company or their ride, except a few outsider posers stiring the pot. There have been posts such as the "I'm fed up..ect" but that isn't trashing, thats stating a fact. If the person feels that way, who am I to tell them they are wrong?

As far as the specific parts breaking, it doesn't matter who you choose to blame... it still needs fixed and there isn't anyone to stand behind the bike anymore. If your Ford breaks, Ford fixes it and takes responsibility, so long as it is under warranty. Ford does not tell you to go to the supplier and talk to them about the broken part. That is piss poor consumer relations.

I think its nice to let people know of some of the problems they may encounter so at least they know what they may be getting into.

Some people bitch and moan just for the sake of bitching and moaning and do it in all aspects of their life. Other's see a problem and try to fix it. A custom bike with almost no development and testing is bound to have problems. Its basicly just nice paint and chrome over a frame and engine and they look great. People should just be aware of what they're buying. The first few buyers may have had a valid reason to complain when their bikes broke. But these have been out for awhile, there's no secret what you're getting yourself into. All in all, I think BD and AIH are solid bikes. The engines and frames are mostly solid. Anyone that can read schematic can rewire a bike if they give it an honest try and there's people here that can help when you're stuck. I've read good things about Bobby rebuilding the tranny's at a decent price. So people should just figure that into the cost of buying the bike and plan for the worst. If you get lucky and have trouble free bike, consider it a bonus.

Seems like some of these fucktards just don't have real friends and come on here for an emotional outlet looking for support. I have learned to treat some threads just like the television, and change the damn channel.

I have quit reading the cry baby bullshit. I don't give a damn about some complete strangers whining. Nobody wants to hear all that negative crap, those folks need to find a friend that will put up with their shit and cry to them.

We don't need a rants and bitching section, we need some grown men to grow up and either:

A.) pick up a wrench and learn from the expertise this site offers
B.) sell the Big Dog that is beyond your mechanical skills and get something else you only have to wash and fill up with gas
or C.) get your wallet out and shut the fuck up

Just my opinion which, of course, I don't expect anyone to really care about.

Your correct on the warranty issue. While in Business BD handled warranties. But this company is long gone! So the best thing we all have now is this form and each others knowledge of wrenching! With this, these bikes can keep rolling! I also believe the biggest problem from all the bitching is the EHC units going out on the newer bikes. Wire plus solves this problem. This winter if you do have a factory EHC still, order a wire plus system now and install it in the off season. Great winter project. Plus Wire plus has a pretty good backlog waiting list 6-8 weeks now. But by doing preventive maintenance this winter, you will not loose valued riding time next spring & summer!

Puke; why not let people bitch here? If someone is completely frustrated with the bike (we've all been there) let them bitch and then chime in to help. Nothing better than helping out a frustrated member.
Plus, you can't bitch to the boss, wife, etc....why not bitch here?!!!
