Randomly Dies

So i've gotten to where I get nervous when I ride my 03 Bulldog. At random times it will sputter as if out of gas, loose power, and then die. I'll try to start it while rolling and on a few occasions it will work. Typically I will coast to a stop and after a few tries it will start again. It will usually run for quite a while (couple of weeks) before it happens again.

It's not for lack of fuel as I always have plenty of gas in the tank. A few thoughts I had were maybe a dirty fuel filter, something to do with my crankcase filters, or the carb.

Has this happened to anyone else and what did you do to fix it?

Just because you have fuel in the tank dont bet its getting to the carb. Check your Fuel cap Vent. I removed mine on my 04.
2nd Does it (Bike) have the EHC still?
3rd Does it die when (engine) warm only?
4th Does your lights stay on when it dies?

Thats enough questions for now

Do you cycle the key all the way off before trying to re-start? My Mastiff had a cracked EHC bracket and every once in awhile it would move just enough to break the electrical connection and it would shut off my bike. It was very random and hard to diagnose. Re-cycling the key would start it back up like nothing had happened?
