Hi Guys, I have finally lost my Rally Virginity

I have had a couple of mates give me shit over the last year or so about having a BD because they are HD guys hardout. They also have a Bd that has had a few problem like mine but because im an electronics tech im not worried about the problems and have fixed everything.
He even gave me shit about riding it from Rotorua to Auckland (2 1/2 hours), saying you DONT try and ride a BD like that.
Ive always said I don't have the money to just own a "show bike" and anything I own gets used or I would sell it.

Well....I went on my first ever "bike Rally", from Rotorua to Tahora (it was about 3-4 hours), this ride has got 35km corners, country roads, 16km of Gravel road and a tunnel that has a clay base and sides!
The club I was riding with ended up being the last riders to arrive, at 9:30pm at night, and we had torrential rain for the whole last hour and on the gravel road:eek:
The bike was mint!, No problems....guys couldn't believe that I rode it to the middle of nowhere in those conditions. I had a ball and will have no problem riding it anywhere at all after that.:up:

Google mapped it. Put it on satellite and zoomed in. That’s some twistys and mountains right there.

All I can say is you earned your man card riding that in the dark AND rain.

I have only had my dog for just over a year.....This is my first road bike I have ever owned......And, before this ride, I have only ridden in the dark a couple of times...only ridden in the rain around town a couple of times....and NEVER ridden on a gravel road!!
I always have jumped in the deep end when I do things...only way to really learn :)

I think you may be confused about what we call a Bike Rally, ours consist of Bikes Babes and Beer on some towns Main Street not a European Rally running down dirt roads sideways against a clock.....

I have loaded a few pic's in my gallery, didn't get any of the gravel road or tunnel though
And yes, big ugly number plates!, I am ordering a small one but this is what the standard one looks like.
