R.I.P. Kit, confused

It appears my current EHC is hosed, as my headlight no longer works and I traced the problem back to the output from the EHC. The low beam and high beam headlight outputs from the EHC (connector B, pins 38 and 39), are only putting out about 4 volts instead of the expected 12 volts. And that’s with the headlight removed, so cannot blame the headlight loading down the voltage. For what it’s worth, I also have good continuity from the EHC to the headlight socket.

Anyways, my confusion with the RIP EHC is the fact that is says it is a true plug and play device, and yet the photos of it show a bunch of connectors and wire harness. If it’s true plug and play, then why the extra connector and wire harness? People also claim they can install it in about and hour. Once again though, if it’s plug and play, then the installation should be to simply remove the existing EHC, and install this one in its place, using all the existing connectors.

oh, my current EHC is the one from Elektronik.

I know Axel had some issues with early versions. Mine was one. I sent it back to Curtis, they tested and in the end replaced it as it was a known problem. Not sure if urs would fall into that catagory? but holler @ Curtis. Answer is always No until you ask.
