Hi Roaddawg, Ok here goes :
WEAR RUBBER GLOVES!!!
After grinding, blow off with air
Wipe down with thinner on a cloth rag that will not leave any nubs
Blow off again
Spray adhesion promoter (if you want, couldn't hurt)
Spray your kandies
Clear with 3-5 heavy coats - you have to bury the grinding scratches
(personally, I would set the project aside for a few weeks to a month - to allow the clear to shrink up before you proceed)
Sand with 600 dry DA, then 800 wet
Pinstripe as desired
Fix any touch-ups needed
Re-clear
Cut and buff
If you allowed your clear to shrink, you should be ok. I have rushed these projects before, only to see grinding marks show up later. Then you'd need to sand and re-clear again.
This is just my procedure. You may find a better way. Good luck, and happy grinding!
PS. Try grinding in designs. I've done flames before with painted flames on top of that. It looked really cool!
