I have a 2004 BDM Chopper DT but always liked the little extra rake of the K9. My bike runs great since I installed the Wire-Plus, but I'm thinking about trading it in (plus some $$$) for a new (i.e. unregistered) 2009 K9. In light of the demise of BDM, I have some concerns about the deal such as no warranty and an uncertain supply of (proprietary) parts. BDM Performance Products has risen from the ashes, but are they really going to manufacture new parts or just sell off the existing inventory? And for how long? I guess time will tell. Also the bike has been sitting on the showroom for well over a year. Anyway, I've searched this forum and got some answers, but here are a few for 2009 K9 owners:
Did you have to have any warranty work done?
Do you still have the original EHC?
Did you have any paint or chrome issues?
Do you have a supplier of normal-wear items like primary gaskets, derby gaskets, etc.
Any gas tank liner problems?
Any comments would be welcomed and I wouldn't be considering another Big Dog without the resources of this knowledgeable forum.
