Questions about Start/Run/Stop switch

I was super busy at my shop today so I told one of my guys to run over to my hobby shop pull every connector they could find, hit it with contacts cleaner, air, and dielectric. Then, put the ehc in and let me know. It fucking worked. It's not the methodical process I wanted to do to find the source of the problem but I'll take it. I still had my run jumper in it and it came to life. Under 6k miles! I have to run over when I can put the switch back in to see if it works. Thank you guys so much for getting me this far!!!

Great News !! Check your headlight and Check for bike in Neutral. Your picture shows the blue light on ( high beam) default is low beam unless the bulb is bad and no neutral light. Probably just not in neutral.
Your second picture is indicating a fault on the circuit related to the position of the light. I can't tell from the picture which circuit it is. Good news you get to troubleshoot it and get a true feel for the process not the shotgun!!
Lube your cylinders before cranking just to be cautious.

Super. Just FYI, your EHC has been upgraded to the 05 EHC with a circuit board adapter. Which it a good thing. Once you get the Deka battery, I going to recommend replacing the voltage regulator. On those old EHC, there is no protection between the battery and the EHC. If something happens to that old voltage reg. it will smoke the EHC.

Great to hear -- This may not have been as methodical but really it was. If it was contacts/dielectric needs and that bike sat, its really better that they were ALL done -- Otherwise you might have done it till it worked and had one fail shortly after possibly while on the road.
Glad we could help get you going.

Yea, since it was picked up at an auction or salvage I'm sure it sat outside in the rain at some point and however long easy for it to get corrosion.

Got some time to check it out this evening. Right hand pcb is indeed bad. Ordered a new updated one. It is in neutral but the brights stay on and when I switch it to low beams it just flashes 3 or 4 times. Had the plugs out already oiling the cylinders. Nice fat spark on both plugs. Battery is coming Thursday as well as the carb kit. Should be ready to fire by Thursday evening. Also, thankfully they got the title and its notorized and ready to pick up. That's the main reason I got it so cheap (paid $1425) the auction house was "pretty sure" the title would be forthcoming but it was potentially not. Ordered new front and rear masters as they're both bad. Hopefully it doesn't have catastrophic engine damage. Can't thank all you guys enough. I don't know if I ever could've figured it out but I would've surely bought a replacement ehc before I did. Looking forward to paying it forward.

that's what this site is all about.
I've said it before, without this site I probably would have given up on BDM years ago (or striped everything out and rewired old school as much as possible give I have an EFI bike).
I have people on this site that I am closer to than any of my blood relatives!
