Would it be worth it to paint the Tins and frame? Or do most of you just do the tins? My Dog is going in the shop this month for a new Paint job... and the painter asked if i wanted to do the frame too. I think doing the frame is a bit much....and more of a hassle. What do you guys think?

It's a matter of time and cost, what does your frame look like, how bad is it as for scratches and nicks, how much can he paint without stripping down the bike. I personally wouldn't want to put new tins on a frame that needs work, but that is your decision.

Yes, It's all about the money. 90% of the bikes I paint is just the tins. If I get a frame it's because their completly rebuilding, or It's just ate up. But I think The frame needs to be done too. You won't think peolpe will notice, but they will. It's your bike, do what you think is best.

Unless you gotta fair in welds or do bodywork go for powdercoat on the frame. They should be able to match the paint color close enough. Paint doesn't hold up very well on frames

The frame has scratches, and nicks.... but is 100% solid. It just soo much work....to tear this whole bike down. seems like a waste. its gonna get scratches from the road eventually from heavy riding anyway.

I just finished up painting my frame and tins. It's a complete tear down. Every nut, bolt, bracket, including all wiring.... Mask every threaded hole and engine / tranny mount surfaces. It's a lot of work if you plan to do it yourself

Did a total paint on mine as well. I second Five-Five, its a lotta work but you get to know your Dog inside and out. Its a good time to polish everything too. If ya got the time I'd say do it all.

Had mine powdercoated and man what a difference. It is a long process to do it yourself but you really get to know your bike.
