Question on turn signal not working.....

The left rear light won't light up unless the brakes are applied- then it lights up perfectly. No turn signal and no lights at all, just brakes. The turn signal indicator on the display doesn't light up on that side either. Is it possible its a bad switch?.....or is there a short somewhere?

Admittedly I'm being lazy and haven't spent any time diagnosing myself. Guess I was hoping for an easy answer here :oldlaugh:

Thanks in advance!

If the brake light is working but not the turn signal then something has likely gone wrong in the EHC.
The brake light and turn signal run through the same wire in the harness but which function, brake or turn, is controlled by the EHC.
Since the dash light is out also and you have no running light I suspect something has happened to the EHC but it is possible there is a short somewhere causing the MOSFET in the EHC to shut off.

I will bet you it is a short.
Strangely enough - my turn signal wire shorted (going to indicator) - I had the exact same symptoms as you.

I ended up cutting turn signal wires at EHC - all 3 - front-rear-indicator
Voltage was good coming from all 3 - from ehc
connected them one at a time until I found the one that didnt work when connected by itself
ex. connected front - worked
connected rear - worked
connected indicator - didnt work
connected front and rear - both worked

now I knew where my short was

Hope this helps

i had the same issue . Took the switch cover off and found that the harness wasn't pushed in all the way and then hello signal on the left side works great.

I had a similar issue...had turn signals on the front and rear, running lights but no rear brake lights. Found a broken wire going to the rear brake switch, soldered up and new heat shrink and Brake lights work :chopper:
