Question for the late model chopper owners

Running a 117ci with a 300 or 330 rear tire how is the braking on these bikes? Are the brake pads & rotors holding up? How often are you guys having to change these parts? Any heating issues with the 117 motor? In general please let me know what issues or problems you have run into.
I am in the market for a K9 so i feel better asking questions before i buy it.

my 07 pitbull

I'm very pleased w/ my 07 pitbull w/ 117 only have 1k on it so far, so i my not give best advice, so far so good, My 1 st dog bought abought 3 monthes ago died right from the start, had rust in oil tank the day i bought it after several trips to dealer for oil light flickering engine started to rattle, disasemble timing cover found rust all over engine, DEAD, only 250 miles which dealer had put hale of them on. BDM was contacted we debated thay gave me a new bike with my choice of any paint. my bike rolls on a 300 handles great, stops fine, i have 2 other harleys & love the dog hope this helps

I work at dealership that is also a service facility. I have not herd of any abnormal break issues. I rode an 06 Pitbull all weekend for a company outing & I had no issues with the breaks or the tires on dry or wet pavement. I did get caught in the rain but had no issues with the tire wanting to kick out on me or anything like that.

I have the 300 on my K9. Stops fine and handles good. As with any air-cooled motor, they get hot sitting still. No different than other air-cooled bike.

I have a 2007 Bulldog and have put two sets of rear pads on in 10K miles. I have a set of LRB pads that I will be putting on this winter which are a great set of pads with no dust.
I probably used the back brake too much and not the front brake enough and have changed my ways. The 300 is a lot of mass to be stopping. The rear brake seems weak if used alone but using the front does the job excellent.
My bike is a EFI model that I have changed out to a Thundermax Wide band system for the OEM S&S single band system. It runs awesome and I do not have the issues I did running the VFI system. As any big V twin motor, if you get stranded in traffic it will get hot. The EFI bikes have a temperature sensor in the head to monitor temperature and will go into a skip fire mode to try and cool down or tell you to get your ass moving.
The K9 is a awesome bike in looks and shares the same motor as the rest.
A good choice if you are looking for a Big Dog Motorcycle.
