Guys at my shop we do a ton of bike work like transmissions, engines, rewiring, maintenance, carb tuning, tires, custom builds etc. We also work on custom muscle cars doing the same. However In the last month or so I have also been getting calls at the shop asking if I work on 4 wheelers, sport utility ATV's, like the kawasaki brute force 750, side by sides, Can-ams, etc. I have taken in a few for friends, but have not really advertised that I work on them.

It seems like there are a lot of guys that ride motorcycles that also seem to ride atv's lately as the weather is getting cooler. Im not sure if its the colder weather, or if they are just getting really popular.

My question is this...How many of you guys ride 4 wheelers etc, or know people that do? Also do you seem to switch over to the ATV's in the colder months when your not riding your motorcycles as much?

We have been talking about getting into working on them as well. Any thoughts?

I don't have one, but if you can broaden your customer base and can justify tool costs.........

Seems like a win to me.

My wifes cousin runs a motorcycle shop up in the Finger lakes and it's, cycles in the summer, 4 wheelers and snowmobiles in the fall and winter. A lot of guys up there use their 4 wheelers for hunting and snow removal. And I do own a 4 wheeler

Its definately a hunting season thing around here. I own a 750 Brute, just hadn't needed any work yet. I'm sure your shop would be a great alternative to the dealer...

i own 4 ..4 wheelers and yes once it gets a little cooler alot around my neck of the woods dust off their 4 wheelers and go to the woods. I would say if you could use alittle more work hell yes start spreadin the word you do atv's also.

Well for one I can't say I switch to but the 4 wheeler does get more time in the winter. The Dawg gets less and the Harley gets even less to none.

I own a 4 Wheeler, never had a desire to do much to it cause it's already the biggest model made. However I know a ton of people around that trick theirs out and lately a big thing catching on is those 4 seater 4x4 things, think its called a razor? I have seen a ton of those with a lot of work done to them.

It's a lot easier hunting during the winter on a 4 wheeler than on the dog!:roll::roll:

Now that my Pro Sport is finished this is my next project. My wife won't get on the bike but she will ride in this. It has been sitting in the garage for 30 years! I have never heard it run. It is getting all the good stuff. Disc brakes all around,1650 kit in the motor, nice seats and suspension up grades. Hope to have it ready for next summer.

There are a lot of people that don't ride bikes that have 4 wheelers, take them in the woods and break them all the time. That's good for anyone who works on them.

I have one of the original 4X4, Jeep CJ 5
