Hi guys. There was a question. I'm afraid I will not understand it without your help !!!
Bike: Ridge, 04. Thunder Heart. The bike has a different problem. But now I'm trying to understand why the tachometer does not work ?? I checked the wiring. I checked the wires tachometer and tachometer signal. I disassembled the speedometer, and checked corrosion. All cleared. Tachometer does not work. I can not understand why rewired wires on the tachometer ring.
Motorcycle: 04 Ridge. Try to see the photos. Perhaps you have experienced in my question? Pay attention to the cut off black wire (ground). But the wire is not ragged. Wire carefully cut off and isolated. About a week ago, the tachometer worked.

I'm no expert but I would think if bike starts and runs the the cam sensor and the ignition module is working fine. I would question why is the black wire cut? Or is the black wire broke and the shrink tube making it look like it's isolated. Anyway I thought I would move you back to the top of the list. Hope you get it figured out.

Mine never worked from day 1. I just rev it up until I can't stand the noise anymore or can't hear the wife bitchin and then shift...

I'm not sure why you have the resoldered wires...other than previous owner fucked with iT.

If your getting power all the way up to the tach wires and have the ground wire hooked back up and it still doesn't work, then I would suspect your circuit board is faulted. My tach went out and that was my problem. I just swapped out the circuit board, it works fine now.

I restored the black wire (ground). Connected tachometer to another Big Dog. Tachometer does not work. Connect a functioning tachometer and it works. I checked the voltage supplied to the tachometer ring. I think you're right. The problem in the board itself. We'll have to change it.
Next question. Where can I buy a ring tachometer?
