Question about baffles

I have an 07 Mastiff with the Vance & Hines Big Radius exhaust. I was wondering if anyone has the same pipes and took the baffles out. If so, was it worth it? Did the sound improve alot, and how much did the performance suffer? Thanks for any input you could give me.

you can do a search on this and will find many peoples thoughts on this! straight pipes are for wfo, you need backpressure for a motor to run at its top! you will lose some torque down low and gain more noise

Running same pipes with lots of subsequent motor work. Baffles are a simply a question of taste and overall performance. Mine's PLENTY loud the way it is!!! (Set off car alarms everywhere I go!) So I leave the baffles in. Our motors pretty much require the backpressure, even stock. But if you wanna make even more noise....

Try race city thunder monster baffles, they sound better and louder than stock and you wont loose that back pressure. Im very happy with mine.

I cut mine in half, works fine. Take them out and you won't like the decel sound. I'm still switching back to the Ghetto blasters if I ever get them back from being chromed.

I took mine out (same pipes) and loved the way it sounded while running at idle and when romping on her.
BUT - the decel sound was more than annoying. I put them back in.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the info, and next time I will do a search before I post!! Didn't realize I could do that, still a junior member!!!!

I took my baffles out . I like the deep sound, but the decel pop was annoying. Just weld a 3/8" washer to a 1/4" bolt and put it in the pipe with a nut on the bolt through the baffle screw hole.
Then you get the best of both worlds and it will produce power on the dyno too!

I have the same pipes, took out the baffles and put in torque cones, there way louder but the do have an anoying decel pop, if your going to take yours out you need torque cone to give your motor some back pressure.

I took mine out and replaced them with big city thunder baffles and not only do they sound way better I got a great performance increase and the torque increase is awsome.
