Hi is there any specific way to fuel up in the tank without spilling petrol over the tank and have to pour real slow is this normal on the 08 pittbull just was my first trip away and I kept spilling it ova tank going to fast inside tank has a breather bit blocking you from getting the nozzle rite in also found a lot of Allen key bolts lose after ride my mirrors fork keys and a few other things

No real way other than slow fill ups at the pumps. And lock-tight on your bolts. They will come loose

my procedure is to grab a couple of the windshield cleaning towels and fold them up lengthwise several times and hold them on the tank just below the filler just in case it splashes out, but usually that is not a problem because the pump has always cut off automatically and i don't try to put any more in afterward.

use loctite.

Pump will shut off on mine at least 3/4 of a gallon short of full. I fill mine to the brim everytime  I wouldnt be able to go very far if I didn't.

My Ridgeback I can stretch to 150 miles on a 4.25 gallon tank if I'm doing highway. 120'ish around town isn't a problem.

I would even think about putting the spout in the tank and then set it run till it shuts it's self off:eek::eek:

I never trust the automatic shut offs. If they fail, it would be with me.

They do indeed fail, happened to me a couple of times.
Oh, and yeah-blue loctite on EVERYTHING. Good time to check for loose shit is at cleaning time.

X2. The windshield cleaning towels are definitely the way to go. If the gas station keeps them full, which most do not from my experience  I have a hell of a time putting and keeping fuel in my 05 pitt. It seems to run out of gas well before it should be hitting reserve.

You have to park with the gas cap side closest to the pump. Turn your forks to the right and the nozzle fits right in from the right side of the bike.

I do the same but fill from the left side (drive train side) of my bike AND take my sun glasses off.:D

I take the nozzle and point at the ground to empty nozzle before inserting in tank. I put nozzle in tank and NEVER on auto, when its full and I'm looking in the hole, I turn the pump off and squeeze nozzle to get remaining gas out. Once the nozzle is clear of the paint saver, I rotate the nozzle upside down, nozzle curve up, and hang it up, NO DROPS.

I always look in tank while its filling, one time the nozzle didn't shut off and I had a mess cause I wasn't paying attention, never again.

Its better on the ground than on my tank :rant:and as far as wasteful, you get some free gas if you pull the trigger after you shut the pump off.
And yes I missed you XOXO:roll:
