Is there a certain time or mileage that the push rods need adjusting.
Last couple of times I took the bike out noticed a noise from motor
havent heard before. The bike runs great, doesnt skip or anything. Notice
the sound more when idling, just wonder what I need to do. Any advice
would be appreciated.Bike is a 07 Mastiff with 7500 miles.
Thanks

Off hand not sure. If you have a service manual check the intervals. Mine is out in the garage and I'm lazy  But if you've never done it then yes it's time....

There is no set interval for pushrod adustments. These EVO engines should be able to go a long time without adjusting unless one backs off.

I recall Raywood making a post about never having to adjust his with 80-90K on the bike.

With hydraulic lifters, you will not need to adjust unless motor is apart and pushrods have been broke down. You could have a lifter going bad. Would not be first time I have seen one go bad with only a few thousand miles. What kind of oil you using? If Amsoil, that would explain if lifter is bad. Is noise coming from right side for sure? You may have noise out of left side, primary...?

Andrew,

Could you please expand on this???

I went from (no idea what it had) to Amsoil and actually it quieted the noise totally down! Also, I have read here many people are very happy with Amsoil!
