Push button on the Solenoid

Can these just be bought some where or do you need to replace the whole starter.

I've been looking for the cover and sent a message to BDM Performance and they tell me that I have to replace the whole thing.

Is this true?

No! I got my cover on ebay for about $60. Do a search, there are several on there. This is the one I have on my bike:

They have a template of all of the starters so you can download and print a life size picture of the cover.

All you need is the switch, just make sure the get on that fits your starter

I want to do the same thing after Mike had his starter issues last weekend at the ROT Rally.

Has saved my ass a bunch of times just remember to push the compresion releases

As long as your getting correct voltage all the way to the solenoid you should hear the compression release clicking. If your not hearing the first click the oh shit button may not work. Ordered mine as soon as I got back. Seals should be hear Fri I hope. Will post what I find during the rebuild.
