Purchasing a new BDM

Energy One

Guys, I'm at a loss for pricing of new unsold BDM baggers. Our local dealer has two 2009 numbered baggers and one 2010. These scotters are new with the exception of one being a very low mileage demo. I'm possibly considering the purchase of a BDM bagger but think the pricing is out of sight. AAny help would be appreciated. The dealer is asking the mid to high 30's.

He's probably just trying to get his money back. I'm sure he's into them for a good chunk of that price. The fact that he has 2 of them is a good thing for you though.

Just gotta have some patience. The longer you wait, the lower the price will get. Just give him your number and tell him to call you when the price reaches your dealing point.

I'm all for these dealers staying in business, but I wouldn't pay those pre-shutdown rates either.

He'll come off the price just keep working with him. i looked at a k9 about a year ago a dealer priced me 27500 at that time. A year later i was in the market ready to buy had the money in hand and i bought it for 23,000 . So there's alot of room to still make money for him and still give you a deal. i had a place in dallas say that at 27500 he was selling at cost that was'nt true i still think at 2300 he still made money.

I'm also for the dealer staying in business, however, not not interestes in paying 36k for a new bike that is three calendar years old. The dealer still says that we'll see 2012 BDM's. I'm not so sure, but really hope so.

dealer told you there would be some 2012's commin????....from where...and why, BDM is out of business. Even if some where out there why would a dealer buy them unless he got 1 hell of a deal. IMO be patient he is high balling you , bike dealers are the same as car dealers...you know the old story. "man this bike was only ridden to church on sundays by a lil ol lady"...lol

There's no 2012 that I'm aware of I could be wrong but he can't expect you to pay top price for a bike with no warranty except for motor and trans. Your not going to get the price down too 20,000 for a bulldog but I can bet he come down 5000.00 my dealer did.

I bet ur talking about Gateway Bigdog.....they are very proud of their bikes. I tried making a deal on a 2006 K-9, wanted to trade out right my pit for the k-9. Told them if I walked away owing what I owe on what I got i Would be happy. Said he would give me 8000 for my pit and sell me the k-9 for 21,000 i owe about 8500 on pit. My bike had 3000 miles less than the k-9

I saw the ones on the st louis web site. I want the silver one. I can afford it but i love my k-9. If i wasa in the market, i would sit them down and if they won't deal, just wait. But they are sweeeet.

Yes, I'm talking about Gateway and they are very proud of their prices. When I bought my Ultra (NEW) I paid 5.5k below msrp. And they are convinced BDM will reopen.

They are high balling you. The local dealer here just before he went out of business a year ago sold a new '07 Pitbull for $13,995. By the time I went back to the dealer to buy it a day later it was gone. If he didn't purchase his stock with cash which most dealers don't he's paying monthly interest on it for floor planning.
As far as a warranty he can include an extended 5 year warranty he can purchase for you through Pinnacle of Florida which I have, and I can tell you they have paid for thousands of dollars for repairs since my original purchase in '07, and are really good about it. I wouldn't buy it without the extended warranty. Dealer cost on the warranty is $700.

Check out Fury Motorcycles in Saint Paul. They are also a sponsor on this site. I know they were offering a 2010 bagger that was just beautiful for 30 or below.

I picked up a 2010 Bagger here in Ca about 2 months ago. Great bike if you can get at your price and I did. Look on Cycle trader and you will see some are selling for $27k and others up to $40k something.
