I know this subject has been talked about and talked about and etc...etc...etc....but I finally got to see one of these carbs at gateway bigdog yesterday!!! I know that the purpose of a carb is not to be a beautiful object but let me tell you that these things are a work of art. The quality and craftsmanship are impressive. They are really pushing these things at gateway and most of the employees have these on their own bikes. I want one really bad but the $1400 price tag is a little bit of a deterant.

Yes they are pricy, and the XXX Super G Chrome works great, I have one of each and the adjustment on the PSI Big Air is hands down compared to the XXX, very simple, no jets to fuck with, no hesitation, no back fire, no flooding, easy start. Don’t take me wrong, I liked my XXX Super G Carb, but always had a hesitation around 3000 RPM that I nor the techs were ever able to get worked out. I went with the PSI Big Air after my friend put one on his BBC, which had the same symptoms mine did. The PSI took care of that hesitation and solved all of the re-jetting problems we were having tunning the Bikes. Now you just roll the throttle and you better hold on.

I had a hesitation also, till Gas(if I recall) told me my intermediate and main were to far apart. Made the change and runs like a champ. Starts immediatly, getting 40 mpg. Everyone at the dealer probably has them because they got to buy it at cost, or at least a deep discount compared to what we would have to pay.

I second everything boo said - except for the hesitation bit at 3k (I didn't have that). $1,400 sounds too high - I paid less than that for mine. Still about a grand though. My view is that it is better than the xxx but whether it is worth the money is a personal thing that you would have to decide for yourself. If you're a lazy fucker like me then it is.
I'm not saying that the XXX is by all means a bad carb. I have a chrome one on my bike right now. BUT...in my opinion...as far as looks go their is no comparison. The psi carb looks like a freakin work of art. Whether or not it is worth the money is a different question...Hell, I have 50k in my bike so what is another 1400 bucks!?
I may have about the same, and still adding shit, I just ordered some Gothic Triple trees and will this weekend take take motor down to send the jugs & heads out for power coating and show diamond cut.
Why not, I love my dog. When I die I can't take shit with me not even my shoes, so might as well spend it while the OL is in a good mood. I am sure she will soon ask me 
to stop spending so much on the Bike and I'll have to let her cool off for a few months :roll: :roll: :roll: and go back at it again :roll: :roll: Ride Safe and enjoy what you want while you can :2thumbs:

it probably is true (also more torque) but not noticeable enough (IMO) to justify $1400. A big thing with this carb is that it performs like a small carb at low to mid and a big carb up top - best of both worlds and when you add the easier starting, the easier tuning, the smoother perofrmance etc then that is where the bang for your buck comes in. Its more than just an extra 5 HP. And it does look superb.

I just did a polished Mikuni - best $500 bucks I ever spent. Trotta uses them on half his bikes and convinced me to try it. Smooth - set it and forget it (not like S&S) - and the power difference was immediately noticable.
Also - because they use a slider, they are shorter and you gain about an inch of extra knee clearance on the air cleaner...
