I got the bike started tonight after putting it back together. It actually pretty much fired right up with the new PSI carb on there - I wasn't expecting that.
It definitely needs to be dialled in - it didn't idle particularly well and it stalled a couple times throwing out a cloud of black smoke from the air cleaner - at least I think it was from the air cleaner - any ideas what that means? I know sneezing through the carb indicates lean but this was a bit more than a sneaze. This was a puke, shit, fart and sneaze rolled into one.
Anyway, I did manage to go for a very quick blast and Jesus Christ. I don't know how much is due to the fact I have been riding a RoadKing for the last couple of weeks but it was monstrous - the low end torque was ridiculous. God only knows what it will be like when it is tuned in.
I can honestly say out of all the mods I've done to the bike so far, this seems to have made the single most noticeable difference by far. I suspect it is also partly due to the fact that the Woods .650 cam is designed for low end torque whereas the Triple X G is designed for top end power - the exact opposite. I should think the PSI has brought the cam to life.
I ran out of time tonight so will start trying to dial it in tomorrow night and give some more feedback.
