Problems with 09 Wolf... again

Energy One

I didn't want to hijack Denny's thread so I'll start a new one.
I was riding yesterday and the Wolf shuts off. Unlike Denny's problem I'm getting power to the EHC. Battery is less than 2 weeks old. All connectors are tight that are accessible. When I turn the key on the speedo and turn signals flicker then nothing. The battery will checkout at 12.98v but when you turn the key on it will continue to drop voltage to around 4v. Turn the key off and the battery will rebound to 12.98v. Something is putting a significant load on the battery. If the battery was bad (new Interstate) it wouldn't rebound. I'll pull it and check it out for sure but I'm almost positive i'm not going to be that lucky. I pulled the shroud around the EHC to get to the fuses and nothing appears to be wrong. I did find one wire that had chaffed thru the outer jacket but it didn't get into the inner wires (just a matter of time though). Does this problem sound familiar to anybody? If this turns out to be an EHC problem will a Wire Plus kit work with an EFI motor? Are they available for 09 Models? Thanks in advance

Maybe your starter solenoid is stuck in the energized position? Or a possible wire that's ground out on the frame somewhere. That's the only thing I can think of that will pull such a draw... Did you check all your connections for tightness?

pulled my original battery out because it was getting weak, replaced it twice within a week with 2 different Interstate batteries and both were shit. put the original back in and it is still going 2 years later.

The Wolf lives. New battery crapped out.
Can I ask you where did you get that battery from? My newer one with just a few hundred miles took a crap too I think, when I got mine I had the feeling that it wasn't a brand new one but I couldn't say it for sure. Anyway I put the old one back in but still bike not working.

Questionable Battery

There is NO substitute for a "Hot" battery. The Braille battery group buy is still in force. I would suggest it for anyone having need of a battery. $151.03 to yor door is not too bad.
