problem with new led tail lights

Got a set of the brighter leds from Bigdogpartsking, they are hardwired at the board with a plug extending which you plug into the stock female plug. when hooked up the running lights come on fine and are quite bright however the flashers and brake lights don't function. the old boards work just fine. Any idea about what may be happening ?

no I sent a pm to Dave at vtwin waiting to see if he has any idea what may be the problem. Derek aka Bigdogpartsking said that they came right from bigdog but to return them for replacement. hopefully they were just a bad set. The old ones work just fine

Update on this issue..... after testing just about everything I could to ensure that all the connectors were working and that I was getting proper voltage I was at a loss. Finally after talking with Curtis From WSW and a bit of trouble shooting he suggested that I check the wiring order on the new Led boards. Bam problem solved for whatever reason the Red (low Intensity) and Brown (High intensity wires) were reversed. Don't know why they changed the wiring order but that was the issue. carefully pulled the pins and switched the wires, Problem solved. Thanks To Curtis who took the time to exchange multiple Emails with me to get it solved.
I also want to thank Donna and Derek who I purchased the lights from and after the first set did not work they replaced with a second set that were the same way . These lights came right from BigDog so there is no way they could have known the wire order had been switched but did everything they could to make it right. Anyways problem solved !

Oh but one thing I learned the hard way , while messing around with the new led board I bumped it against the housing a couple times and shorted out a bunch of the leds. LOL 50 dollar lesson learned !

Someone on here said to always unhook the negative battery cable when working on the electrical system:hi: We now know why:up:

Badyellow, just to be clear you switch the wire position on the new led board not the bike ! Easy fix just slip the brown and red pins out of the connector and switch the positions. Easy take you 1 minute .

Plugged in my new led boards and the yellows function correctly but the red are like Semi said, running lights and nothing else. Put a yellow on the rear and functions correct. I guess I have to switch the pins on the red.

Switched the pins on the reds and nothing, wont even light up. Figures I would have different trouble.
One thing I noticed is my color wires seem different. On the new LED's they are red, white (middle wire) and black. On the bike they are red, brown (middle wire) and black maybe I switch the wrong wires. And on the left side the middle wire is violet on the bike. Any ideas?

So let me see if I can clarify. If you are looking at your bike from the rear, the wires on the right side are black which is ground brown which is your Hi intensity or Brake/turn and red is taillight or running light. On the left they are black which again is ground, violet which is hi intense turn/brake and red running light. The female connector on the bike has the same color scheme. The new boards wire color scheme is black , red , white. You would think the white would represent the brown and violet on the stock boards. The ground does not change so make sure when you plug the connectors together blk meets blk. now just take the pins on the right led board out of the connector and switch the so that the red goes to the the brown and the white goes to red. on the left led board take the red and position so it meets the violet and white meets red.

so in a nutshell switch the colored wires on the led board with wht representing brown on the right and wht representing violet on the left. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the clarification Semi, I had the wires hooked up that way yesterday but nothing worked. Now tonight everything is working, must have screwed something up last night. The rear brake light doesn't work, front works fine, have to look for the switch and figure that out.

This is a great find. i have the exaCT SAME ISSUE.
