Hey all;

My Dyna may have failed, but I'm not sure. Tried to contact the company, but nothing heard.

The bike is running and starts fine, so I must have the rough timing right. The red LED is not firing when the bike is running and the advance curve (tried them all) doesn't seem to be kicking in on hard acceleration -- she just starts pinging. Tried several fuel sources and an octane booster, so I think I can eliminate the fuel. I've tried adjusting the sensor plate a few degrees with no effect. I got no timing light.

Starting to think the ignition advance is crapped out.....your thoughts?

does the led come on when you set static?

static set at tdc on the comp stroke of front cylinder?

voes should be taped off not grounded

sounds like your either too advance or have an intake leak

Thanks Marv...knew you'd have some thoughts:
The LED doesn't come on at all...the static timing is a ball-park, but works set to the front TDC on compression.
VOES has been taped off since day one.
Checked for an intake leak..no problems.

I'm thinking the advance to too high or the advance curves are dead.

Should I roll the cone sensor left or right? I'm thinking right....

If the LED timing indicator isn't working, you might be screwed. I got a wiring harness for PC if you wanna borrow it.

Dynatech has the best customer service I have dealt with. They replaced one of my 2000i ignitions for free when it was out of warranty. Call 800 928-3962 and keep in mind they are in California.

Yep, Texas Dog you were right...nice folks. I finally got time to call them and they gave me a return number with zero hassle. Tech said if the Red LED is out then the system has a problem it should never have and the advance curves are probably not kicking in. Now to tear it out and send it off.
