primary leak

I have the same leak. I used a mirror and looks like the leak is comming from where the starter bolts to the primary. Seems like alot of people have the same leak. Factory defect? I'll pull the starter and see what the gasket or o-ring looks like.

Check for proper torque on the starter mounting bolts. Dave had the same problem, he bought a new o-ring (thinking that was it) and it turned out the starter was just loose.

Any updates from anyone w/the leak,I'm going through it now,after new starter was installed,just lookin at all possibilites for a fix.

The primary case vent is in this same area where the starter bolts to the back side of the inner primary housing. Make sure primary fluid is at proper level, excess fluid will result in oil coming out of this vent. :bigreddogk9:

yep yep!...:up: I think we put in that new o ring for the starter....being that we had it apart.....but I could have used the one that was in it!
before that....we put in a new primy gasket...and I thought it was leaking from the primy....when the starter was just loose!:bang: GTG now!!
