Primary Inspection Cover - Big Dog Logo

I was performing some maintenance on my 2006 K9 tonight and broke my primary inspection cover as I was trying to tighten it down. I even went out and bought a torque wrench just for the job and still managed to over tighten the bolts. Besides being pretty bummed that I'm now going to miss a ride on the 4th of July I was looking forward too, it also looks like the OEM cover (at least the one I have found online) manufactured now doesn't have the Big Dog Motorcycles logo on it.

So I have two questions. Does anyone know if and where I can get one of these covers that will have the BDM logo on it?

Thanks in advance.

If it's just the corner cracked use some rtv and seal around entire opening, put a small washer on outside of cover on the bolt that cracked and ride until you get a new one.

You could also make one out of a good piece of aluminum or even some nice Lucite for the see through look.

Don't know if your interested but a shop by me (Slammers in Toledo Ohio) has some replacements that have the POW MIA symbol cut into them and look real nice, they are cut out of a very hard material and are black

Donna at Bigdogpartsking has them but I broke mine as well and used sealant and a washer as Greg said.

I like the idea.... any pics?
No just an idea. On the aluminum one, should not be very hard. Just take the old one and some piece of 3/16" or so aluminum plate, some Persian blue and mark out the old against the new plate. Cut with a band saw, drill the holes with counter sink, sand it out to get the rough out and then polish. Install with a paper gasket and some sealer, should be good.

On Lucite, pretty much same, but instead of a paper gasket, maybe a good bead of proper RTV. Or if one knows someone with a CNC mill, even better.

For a quick fix though, the washer over the broken hole with RTV should do the trick.
