Primary cover

I never really noticed it before but how hot does your Primary Cover get? I just noticed mine was so hot I couldn't touch it as I went to hook up my battery tender. I never noticed that before...Is that normal?

yea,mine gets pretty hot after a ride. Always has

yea i would say that is normal... Mine is always scorch'n after a ride...
Sometimes i have to wait to hook the battery tender up cause its too hot..

No problem's Alicat -- they get plenty hot during a ride over about thirty minutes. Part of the fluid's job is to lube and COOL the assembly.....

The oil can get up to 250F and higher so you bet it will be too dam hot to touch! Same for your engine oil which is why many run dual oil coolers.

I'VE GOT A QUESTION ON THE PRIMARY COVER. THE LARGER DERBY COVER AT THE REAR OUTER PRIMARY, IS THAT JUST FOR SHOW OR CAN YOU GET TO YOUR CLUTCH BY JUST REMOVING IT INSTEAD OF THE WHOLE PRIMARY COVER?

Its a blank piece. No access on these RSD DSSC units. Its only so you can change it out for something that looks differently.

I believe you can use any standard derby cover... even HD covers.
