Primary capacity

On my 06 mastiff, I noticed on the primary under the inspection cover it lists the oil cap. as 1 1/2 quarts My service manual say's 32oz I have always put 32oz's in any primarys on Harleys, anyone explain this?

Can't explain it but pretty sure 32 oz is the ticket.

many of the primaries had the wrong thing stamped on it - mine's the same

It's 32 oz. I just changed mine and went to the B&M trick Shift.

I know the manual says 32oz but if you pull the outer primary cover you will get about another 8-10oz out of it. So if you just drain the oil put 32oz but if you pull the cover put a little more. I know mine says 1.5quarts on the bottom of the inspection cover, I think that is the maximum it can hold.

I only use 1 qt........that is plenty...
