yea right now banks are hard up with their loans. they need to give loans to make money, but don't want to give them because they're afraid they'll get stuck with a motorcycle once you get laid off and can't pay. seriously my girl works at a bank and there entire parkinglot is full of repo's...

i just purchased a 08 pitbull online at a descent price plus no sales tax (gotta love the internet ). my local credit union gave 6.5% financing, which isn't bad considering how the economy is.

Didn't quite get the rate I was hoping for from the bank (they jacked it up another .25 since it was an 08) and thought I'd get just a little more on my trade in, but no regrets here. Just looking at it as my part of stimulating the economy!! Loving the new bike. Ride and comfort is much nicer than the 01 was. Should have the first 500 knocked out this weekend just in time for my pipes to arrive.

Well, story changed today after talking to an actual sales guy. They only wanted to give me $8500 for my 01 Mastiff which I have $9500 left on. Said they'd pay my 01 off and sell me the 08 for 26k (basically knocking another 1k off). KBB lists trade-in at $9380 for my bike so I'm on the fence about this. Am I get screwed on my trade-in? Tried to get some rear pegs and a pad into the deal, but no luck. And wtf is with interest rates now?? They all seem to be 8%+!!

A lot of banks I checked don't even do motorcycle lending anymore and Wells Fargos motorcycle rates ranged from 10% to 18%! Everyones treating motorcycles a lot different :

Yep, I don't think I even have a credit card that is 18% so I damn sure wasn't going to finance the Wolf at their rates but it's tough out there right now. Congrats on the new ride Sporadic!

Wouldn't you get a better rate just putting the loan on a line of credit?

Like a signature loan? I don't think most people can get approved for a $40,000 unsecured signature loan, especially nowadays.
