recently had thunderheart ignition module die and upgraded to crane ignition. problem noticed is when trying to get on it from the start or acclerate hard at any speed, bike bogs down then goes but is worse when trying to top out and sputters hard after 70. it acts like way too rich as have even had a back fire here and there. my question is after ignition module change is a rejet necessary or do i have something else going on. wires and coil new, timing is correct and ran awesome before ignition change. I have also read the bogging off start can be an acceleration pump adjustment so wondering if i am on right track here and any recommendations. bike does run well on roads and just have to roll into throttle and can't crack on it... thanks:confused:

You ever get an answer to this post? I've got a similar issue here on my 2005 Chopper. Leaking fwd rockerbox gasket repaired, and now she won't jump off the blocks anymore. Going to tune up the carb, but didn't know if you had a better idea.

Think about it. This bike ran 'awesome' before the ignition change. I don't need a jet change and ruin the tune, right? I have a timing problem is I changed one thing, correct? Oh wait. Are you saying, I installed new coils with new ignition or my bike ran awesome with the new coils but after this ignition dada yada. Where are we in the amount of changes since 'awesome?'

Don't touch the jetting. You may think the timing is spot on, but the timing is from point A to point B period. You install any ignition you get the same numbers right back to the preset is whatever book is. Or say, whatever timing you had before is what you want back now.
