Powder coat

I picked up some of the parts from the powder coater yesterday - air cleaner, handlebars and headlight bucket. The front wheel is done but the rear wheel and headlight trim ring needs to be done again as they are not happy with the finish due to corrosion on the parts. Should be ready early next week.

I'm going to make a start putting things back together today, along with the PSI carb I picked up from Ray at Redwood who kindly took delivery and carried it down there for me. Some of these parts were fiddly to take apart so fuck knows how I will get on putting them back on again!

Pics will follow. Wish me luck!

We also picked up some Kuryakyn Iso grips for Lisa's Heritage and a cruise mate, who Knotso kindly took delivery of and brought to Redwood for us. I'll be doing this this weekend too.

Thanks a lot to Ray and Knotso for doing this. :2thumbs:

thanks boys - I got the handlebars and all the hand controls back on and the headlight back on and wired up. I like it so far. Took a couple of pics and will try and get them on here tonight.

I also bolted on the PSI today but am having troubles - I've posted a couple questions in the tech section.

I got the PSI issue sorted (except I need a longer fuel line) and the air cleaner back on today - took forever to get the tank back on though - that is a job I hate. I reconnected the battery and all the electrics seem fine thank god. I also put the front fender back on as I was running without it for a while. Its looking real good so far (especially with Lisa cleaning the bike as I'm going!!).

Should hopefully get the wheels back in the next few days and then I'll post up some pics. I think it's going to look good.

I'll get some better pics when it is all done - hopefully in the next couple of days if the wheels are done.

Looks great lee, did you end up doing the wheels complete or did you leave some polished surfaces exposed?

thanks gents

BB - fiddly, you know, fiddly. A right pain in the ass to do with a lot of tiny parts.

Al / Gas - I got the entire wheel blacked. I thought about leaving some polished parts, particularly just the hubs, but couldn't decide so just went with the whole thing. Plus I hate trying to keep the polished parts looking polished. I have left the pulley polished though for some contrast. I spoke to the powder coater today and he has to do the rear wheel again - thats 3 times! He's hoping it will be OK this time and if so then I will get them back tomorrow. The headlight trim ring was good though after the second time.

Dingo I couldn't have put it better myself.
