04 ridgeback...wish i had an 08 with the big ass end.

first to admit that on long rides i take the road king, i like my nuts the size they are.
+1

Yeah, my road king gets it's miles that way too.

I turn my saddlebags into an icechest. I can get a case of beer and ice in one and clothes in the other.... strap on a tent and sleeping bag and, I'm off.

I'm feeling excluded! :( Ain't there a place for a "Mongrel"? I guess that's what I've got (built). Or as Tim called it "a one off Big Dog Chopper.

My chopper build: Looks kinda like a Big Dog, barks like a Big Dog, rides like a Big Dog (better??), but it Ain't! Well part of it is. The motor is a 107 S&S new out of a Big Dog Chopper and the primary and clutch also (got all new from Post Falls, Idaho Big Dog Dealer). Has the Big Dog air cleaner and coil cover and seat. The rest is custom (80 spoke DNA wheels, Hawg Halter 5 degree trees, 8 up 4 out softail frame with 38 degree neck, 10 over tubes, mini apes, stock harley hand controls, & digital speedo). How it rides has exceeded my expectations but I have to say if I had to do it over again I would have gone out and bought a nearly new, (well cared for) Big Dog chopper or K9.

My inspiration for building this bike was (of course) Jesse James, early OCC, Biker Buildoff, and riding my bro's 2003 Big Dog chopper part way on our 2004 round trip from Sturgis to Custer Battlefield (I then WANTED ONE!!).

So, doesn't this qualify it to be a Big Dog Mongrel? (I've had some good pups in my day whose bloodlines were pretty mixed up)!!

That's Cool. I realize it's an Exclusive Club (I should have checked
out the name more closely).
But if it's OK, I'll hang around a while. After all it's not like I'm riding
a "rice burner" and my ride's got the Heart of a Big Dog.

Don't worry Shovelcowboy, you are more than welcome here. I was just funning with you. Besides you post some great pictures in addition to your regular posts.

not enough time 4 riding
Shovelcowboy, we have several members here that are trying to learn about the breed before buying. Looks like you learned and then put your own interpretation on the breed. You are more than welcome here, we like people who do things differently. Besides I think your bike looks good and the other pictures that you post are even better.

Getting back on topic, notice that the top three models are soft tail models.

I agree TooMany, at some point a softail just makes more sense. I love mine.
Oh and Shovel... your very welcome here Brother. Nobody said we were allpure breeds here.

By the way, The Chopper WILL be back, look for it in maybe 2010. It will be different though.
