Poping on deceleration how much is to much

I'm running a stock motor with V&H 2-1. Setting the idle mixture screw to best idle(1 turn out) it pops on decal. If I richen it 1/8-1/4 out on the idle mixture screw, the popping is almost gone. Plugs look nice. Running 33/78 jets with stock air bleed. I had Mean Mothers on the bike last year and the popping was pretty much the same. Once in a while when I start it HOT, it pops real loud out the exhaust, like a shotgun blast.
That is the same jetting that I am running with a 585 cam and Vance and Hines 2 into 2 exhaust with original baffles cut in half and thunder city baffles in front of the stock baffles, plugs look good, still a bit rich but in my opinion a little rich is better than too lean and I can't stand popping at all, just my personal preference, and it runs the best it ever has, flat out hauls ass!:whoop::whoop::whoop::chopper::old2:

Runs Good and plugs look nice. At one turn out on the idle mixture screw, I may be a tad rich according to S&S tuning. Maybe 32 would get me to 1-1/4 turns out. I run another 1/8 to 1/4 (richer) out if I want to stop the decal popping. Seems 33 works fine, dropping to a 32 or 31 would not be worth the trouble...

I'm guessing you are begging for a gas station at 100 miles?

I was running 32 and 78 and getting sneezing thru the carb running 2-2500 rpm while cruising, according to S&S carb set up they recommended bumping up intermediate, I'm also running 33 and 78 now with the timing set at 30* and haven't heard the sneeze once in the last 1K miles. I don't care about gas mileage cause my ass needs off the bike by 75 miles anyway, but I am getting 32MPG.
But I also have the S&S dual runner, 585 cam and VH 2into2
I think the differences are in the tolerance's of the motors and the carbs. I mean when you think about it there's only .001 between a 32 and a 33.

I hate to mess with a good thing!! Runs too good. I do get a little lean surge at low speeds. Seems to be better when I add the 1/8 to 1/4 rich(from 1 turn, best idle) on the idle mixture screw. No black smoke. Plugs look nice. I have thought about dropping to 32 but if all it does is allow my mixture screw to be set around 1.25 turns(best idle per S&S tuning) out, what's the point?? It had 29.5/74 when I bought it. It came from Salt Lake, only 1100 miles on it. It had 29.5/74 jets in it a spike air cleaner and Mean Mothers. Ran like crap when I brought it to Missouri. I guessed it ran fine in the thin air of Utah with that set up? The fuel mileage does not seem too bad. I really don't pay much attention. All I can say is this thing flat get's with it. Pulls much harder with V&H 2-1, than the Mean Mothers. I assume it had the stock cam in it, but maybe not!

My 2004 chopper has a 117..i dont mind the poping just making sure its common with these bikes...my 4 stroke dirtbikes pop on deceleration and its no big deal just much loader on the 117 haha
I have v&h 2 into 2. I removed the baffles and installed thunder monster baffles 6 inches up in pipes. I have almost zero decel pop and have a nice decel growl instead. When I group ride I have a lot of pops on decel but that's group riding much different from solo riding. Hope that helps shed more light.

I'm sorry but can you explain group riding. Is it because of the rubber banding?
