I ride with a brother that has the 1800 vtx.
It has 110 hp and 120 TQ.
most bikes in this forum don't run like that.
Some 117's here, although will kill a VTX.
stock how ever 117 does not do so good on the dyno.
I think I saw the 117's doing around 86 hp this summer on the dyno.
Not a contest power wise.

you will have to mod the 117 to get the full power of it.

I just bought a new 07 BD chopper and it hauls ass, the 0-60 is no shit. Before delivery though I had the carb re-jetted and VH big radius pipes put on so it was fast out of the box. Love the bike!!!!

maybe you misunderstood my above statement that my independent conclusion to his perception of minimal mechanical movement from his newly acquired two wheeled vehicle is there is a substantial possiblitlity that he may be a fat bastard.

You should be able to stomp the ever livin' shit outta that VTX! My chopper kicks azz. (However, I weigh in at nothing minus nothing.) Minimal mods, had to put washers in it to get some back pressure. I'd definately make sure your clutch isn't slipping. Mine needed to be adjusted after my first 1000 miles cause it was slipping badly and slowing me waaaaayyy down. You'd be able to hear it if it is...makes a great noise..but no go!

You must be having some kinda problems VEJ. I traded in my 2003 VTX-1800c for my 117 Big Dog. And my Big Dog runs as good if not better than my VTX did. I think my VTX may have had a few more horses but it was also about 40 lbs heavier...

It may not be as fast as some of the bikes you have owned in the past but I can gaurantee one thing my friend, you will get alot more BOOTY from owning the Dog over a rice burner. You are in a different class now, the torque, half the rev's to make power,fat tire, and the bling. Wait and see!!

Put a 250 or 300 on a VTX, it would look good if you could get it past that drive shaft but I dont think it would turn it like a 117!!!!!! Nope.......:job:

I don’t care what you do to a Honda or other rice burner. It will Never sound right!!!!! Sorry Datz Da Factz Jack!!!!

My Honda:
Dont get me wrong I made it look real good, but......It aint Da Dog..... I got 2k over book on my trade.....My Dog waz used when I got her.
