I believe I have every one mentioned and a few more but the best I have found for AL is wizards metal polish in the band aid style can and the truck box from Lowes comes in at a close second.

All the Wizards products are top shelf but pricey but so are Bigdogs.

I could have a yard sale of just polish and cleaners and free up several shelves.

I been polishing my bikes for 30 years - White Diamond is my choice - turns black instantly, very little hand working and looks close to chrome. Use to be only in small bike shops - can get it now at autozone. Use 100% cotton baby diapers...you will love the finish!
I like this as well works as well as the Truck Bright I posted earlier...........

My Autozone didn't have the White Diamond. I'll see if I can find it on the net. Always looking for something new.

Sheen Genie for me. Very little effort non abrasive and you cannot tell where my billet hand controls stop and the chrome handlebars start

I use Mother's billet and got caught in the rain the other day, soaking rain too!
I wiped/blew off with air compressor about 90% before I went to get dry clothes myself. It was the first time it had been wet in a few years. When I went to clean it back up again there was a bottle of glass plus in the garage.. Hummmm,, so I sprayed some on a micro-fiber rag then wiped the entire scoot down as I went over it and then with a spa rag from autozone. Shined it up like new money and much quicker than polishing the entire scooter completely again too.

Just a funny side note. If you look at the first picture, you will see a big copper kettle in the back ground. After setting for a few months, it gets really green and tarnished. I spread ketchup all over it, then wash it about 15 minutes later. And thats how I get it to shine like that.
If you ever go to old working museums like the McNeil Street pump station museum. They have huge duplex pumps that were run by steam. The Govenor balls are huge brass balls that when turned centrifugal force throws them out till they go so far then the pump's gear box is slipped into neutral till they idel down anyway on Fridays the shop maintenance crews in the 1920's - 1960's would go over all the brass parts with 5 gal buckets of tomato paste and paint brushes. The Saturday crew would wipe them clean and it would be bright and shinny. The museum still uses this technique today!

As for the dog, on the alum parts I use Wizard, but on the chrome I just ordered a can of Maas. I hate using Mothers products. And yes even Mothers Billet! Requires way to much effort, and this from someone who details his bike for 10-12 hrs three times a yr to make sure I get everything cleaned and shinny. I call these days. Elbow day.

Neat information Jonathan. Some old man told me about it, and was really surprized how well it worked. I originally started using the MAAS on the kettle, then it was rubbing compound and a buffing wheel. the ketchup is a no brainer now. Maybe someday someone will invent something we can spray all over the bikes, and hose it off, and it will be all shiny. But you know, I think that spending that few hours hand polishing the bike is part of the love we show for it. Kind of like patting the wife on the butt and giving her a kiss and saying I love you.:SEX:

White diamond here. Works great and puts a sealer on at the same time. Whenever I do heavy polishing, I use Zephyer 40 from the truck stops. This stuff is really good, but requires a lot of hand work to remove it. Tried mothers and flitz and they suck. A lot of my buddies use Adams from the local Harley shop, but to each there own.

I thought that was just part of it! They supply a tiny amount of polish for $14 and you supply hours of elbow grease, black crap of your fingers that brake cleaner won't take off, and you butt aches from sitting on the concrete floor. Then you have to call the wife or neighbor on the cell phone to say "Help I am sitting on the floor and can't get up! I have lost all feeling in my legs but the bike is shiney!!! :2thumbs:

I used to drive truck back in the day and have tried everything under the sun. I used to sand down then buff and hand polish 110 gallon tanks on my trucks that I drove until they shined like chrome. I have also used many different polishes since I started buying my bikes as well and have recently stumbled across a product I bought from LOWES and I have to say it goes on easy and comes off easy and leaves very little scratches in the aluminum. You can find this by the Diamond Plated Tool Boxes for your pick-ups! Only around $10 and I recommend it highly!
I bought this earlier based on what you said. Man, what a huge difference this is compared to what I was using. Works freaking great... Thank you for the tip.

I also picked up a bottle of this while at Lowe's last week. now I must say I have not polished my bike in 5 years.... not a typo.
I polished it one year after I bought it and haven't done it again since. that was the spring of 2008.
I started with the front wheel. WOW, what a difference! I don't think it looked bad before. I mean it was a little dull compared to the chrome, but not that noticeable.
I ended up doing most of the aluminum. didn't go in between all the fins, but did do the top few that show. hit all the other parts. not much rubbing at all. very quick until it turned black. stuff is really easy. I used mother's last time and no comparison to this blue bottle.
I'm telling you it's hard to tell what is chrome and what is polished aluminum. told the GF she will need to ride 1/2 mile behind me on the way to Sturgis this week, otherwise she might be blinded by the reflection!
