PM air cleaner advice

I would like to install a PM supergas air cleaner on my 2003 Bulldog this weekend. My bike is 100% stock now, pipes, jets, air cleaner, except for a K& N filter. I ordered it while at Delmarva bike week and the guy said to use red locktite on something, I can't remember what, and blue on everything else. The instructions say blue on everything. Also he said that my jets should be fine, that I wouldn't need to rejet the carb.

I looked through the " how to's " but didn't find much. Also, is there anything else I should know before I dig into this ? It seems like a pretty easy job, but I have never done one, so I figured I'd run it by you guys and find out. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, John

Had those pipes on my old Wolf....Awesome...I missem.

Slap it on, run it, and check you plugs.....may need to go up a jet size if your sucking more air......but your bike will tell ya. :2thumbs:

Thanks for the replies. I started to install it tonight. It should have been a really simple job but it seems that the standoffs hold the backing plate 3/16" away from carb. They are too long. I guess I'll call PM next week and see if they can send shorter ones. Anyone else ever run into this ?

I'll post some pics as soon as I can Paul. I was able to install it without the standoffs for now, so I could ride it & see if I have to rejet. Seems I may have to, it was stumbling a bit @ 75 mph. The standoffs are just decorative, I'll trim
them myself if I have to. I'm working 12 hr shift all week.
