plug wires

Riding everything is fine then all of a sudden bike starts running on one plug.Pull over turned off the bike started back up fine and went a couple miles then back to one plug Get home and take off the wires to check continuity.

Is there continuity on the wires?

One wire has a beep the stops the other nothing. It seems weird that it beeps and doesn't stay constent.

Does anyone know how to check a coil?

you can pull your plugs and check for spark.have you done that yet?

No I did pull the wire while it was running and shoked the living shit out of me, don't know if a coil can come and go.

Set your meter for resistance, there should be some be resistance, make sure the readings are close to the same. That will tell you if there is a break in the wire. As far as the coil, you can check it the same way. If there is a break in the wire anywhere, the resistance will be high and up to O/L.

My buddies 08 pitbull had something similar happen. His stock plug wires started grounding on his frame. Replaced them and hasn't had a problem since.

had the same problem some months back.......spent 3 weeks troubleshooting it.....went through the whole system. rebuilt the carb checked all electronics, plugs etc....ended up being the Plug wires.

a simple test is to fire up the bike in a dark area....if your plug wires are bad that spark will be jumping to anything metal and you will see the corona arc .....if you dont see the arc, then check your wire where it goes into the coil...check the spark plug wire port on the coil for any corrosion (green oxidation)

take a look at your plugs that will tell you which cylinder is
mis- firing

Well oh v pulled through for baby, went down to american legends where scott hooked him up with some orange screamn eagle wires that were in his tool box, and thats seems to have worked. sounds like a different scoot.

and the orange don't look all that bad. I'll have to try and take an ole 45 degree chill ride around the block, which causes some major shrinkage:roll:
