Plastic Covers & Custom Fabricated Covers 2005 Pitbull

Has anyone had success with paying to fabricate your own parts? I was even thinking of chroming some parts instead of replacing with fiberglass or plastics. Any thoughts or lessons learned?

I am a happy new owner of a 2005 Pitbull. Only wish the previous owner told me the electronic box covers and split tank speedometer cover were compromised. I wouldn't have cared but I definitely would have been more careful. Now one (right side) cover, just beneath the seat flew off. I've removed the left side as it was not even attached anymore. The tank cover is zip tied and used self-adhesive velcro to keep it in place.

The manufacturer said he just started making some for my frame and year. I'd still have to pay for paint. Quite pricey. I live in San Diego, California. I've hit up some of my friends that like to design and tinker... I have a friend willing to try his new 3D printer, as long as the pieces are within the right size perimeters. 2005 Big Dog Pitbull.jpgBDM4.jpg

The electric box covers are notoriously flimsy. I purchased the reinforcement upgrades HDM sells, they look pretty cool on their own (which is a good thing because I am TERRIFIED of gluing the plastics on them and somehow screwing it up.
