Pipes scraping the ground

I'm with Chopper Dave on the character thing. I bought mine to ride it( 10,000 miles in the first year), not put it in a bubble and look at it. I'm very anal about keeping it clean but the pipe scratches show your not afraid to push it to the outer edge of it's ability to corner. Beside they are usually on the very bottom of the pipes and not easy to see unless your looking for them

thats right BBD....the first time I scraped it ...I said.... oh shit! now it doesn't bother me.....and like you said....you can't see it unless you look right under there.....

I always seem to get the left underside of the frame on mine...never had the pipes scrape though...YET!

I have the V&H pipes also....just about have them grinded down were I want them. Takes a little longer than N8KAM but it works

One other thing about the V&H 2 into 2 pipes. Keep an eye on the exhaust mounting bracket they have a tendency for the welds to brake. On my second set of brackets

I would keep it scraping, it is a warning just before your pegs scrape...
I ground mine "up" for clearance as well... so now, both my pegs match
I only scrape my kickstand on some of the bigger speed bumps and some "driveway curbs"

I have mean mothers with a air-ride suspension and I scrape my pipes all the time. I have broken the bracket for the pipes once. It is a pain in the ass to change. I catch the kick stand when turning left also. i guess these bike weren't ment to lean over that much??

Had my air ride a bit lower than normal the other day....... My pipes told me so :roll: :roll:

Pipes on the left and kick stand on the right. You either have to ride less aggressivly or get used to it I guess.

Sorry, Strike that and reverse it. I just read what my addle brained mind wrote. I scrape the pipes on the right and the kickstand on the left. I have been know the get the frame and primary on my softail but the advice does stay the same. Ride a little easyer or get used to it, it's part of the toy!

Hell, you ride it hard enough, you'll always find something to scrape. I used to scrape my Big Radius and now I scrape the Paul Yaffee 2 into 1 dumps if I ride it hard enough...

Scrape my pipes, scrape my frame occasionally fortunately it usually happens in an area where you cant really see it but the spark show does impress the guys at night.
