04 Chopper for sale...maybe

Hey guys, I have been thinking of buying a new K9 so I thought I would get your opinion on selling my Chopper. It is a 2004 Chopper DT with 10700 miles. Chrome hand controls, chrome levers, chrome sissy bar struts with 12 inch sissy bar, passenger pad, custom gel seat by seatmaker, and a few other things I'm probably forgetting. What do you think a fair price would be in this market? I was thinking $14,700. Trade in value is $12,700. I hate to trade it in for that. Tell me what you think. Thanks

I live in St. Louis which is not far from you, I had to take alot less for my 07 fatboy because of the market, I bought an 07 Mastiff, I am happy I did, life's short make sure you enjoy the ride.

I just don't see why to get rid of that. The 04 is still a great unit with some nice hd components.

Yes, I love my Chopper, and I have it just how I like it. I guess I just like new things. I'm not completely sure about selling it. That is why I started this thread to see what my fellow owners thought. There are some pretty good deals on 08 K9's right now. 0 miles and 300 tire sure does sound good.

You're priced well. Do what you want but I would save your money, work on what ya got instead of taking 3 steps back just for a 300mm rear. If you want to spend some loot... change the front end out. That will be a big impact on the looks and set you ahead of most in the looks dept. There are allot of front end ideas you could do.

Its really not just about spending money. Its about owning a brand new dog. I might not sell. Its just an idea I'm kicking around. One of my friends told me the same thing. That i was nuts to spend that kind of money on basically the same bike with a larger rear tire. He thinks I should buy the new bulldog. Thats a lot of cash to part with though.

For the price of a bulldog you could buy a HD bagger and put a Jims 120" with a Fat 5 trans and be way ahead with some cash major cash to spare. I heard a Michigan dealer does that for $12k over sticker, plus you get your old motor/trans back. All under warrenty. Can't beat that!

There was another post where someone showed an '05 Chopper DT that sold for that much on Ebay and everyone agreed it was a good deal. That's a nice bike and well worth the money you're thinking but I'd be expecting to wait a little while for it to sell nowadays. It seems the buyers with the money are out there but just not as many now.

Real nice bike. Thats in the ballpark for what the are going for around where I live in NH. I bought my 2003 with 10,000 miles for 12K, and yours has a lot more extras then mine had.

Yours is a great looking bike, and I would keep it if I were you. Forget the K-9 or bulldog. Your 2004 has a lot more standard parts then the new Dogs. Put some money into it like they said above, and just change a few things. It will be more original that way.

Hey... Still comes in cheaper and would out run the dog doing it. With 10 times more aftermarket support, and dependable components. Might as well create educated buyers.
