Wondering if anyone had a photo of intact PDM wiring at the horn and starter relays. A customer brought a 06 K9 in that has a PDM installed. His complaint is no spark, which is correct. I downloaded the PDM install instructions and wiring diagrams. After looking all this over I found that 1) the grounds and power wires were not hooked up per the instructions 2) wiring has been cut/tampered with at the relays (bike cranks but horn doesn't sound), 3) red light never comes on at ignition module, 4) constant 12 volts at all three coil terminals.
The braided ground wires were attached to the battery box, which is rubber mounted. Both PDM power wires were hooked to the circuit breaker and other grounds were attached to horn mount bolt (also on rubber-mounted battery box. I believe I have everything wired correctly except the horn relay. At the relay connector there are two wires cut. One goes nowhere and the other WAS hooked to the power terminal of the coil and a small switch, which activated the horn. It would be nice to know where these two wires that have been cut need to go.
I'm guess all of this wrong doing led to the demise if the ignition module. It does have power and ground going to it, but I've read about relay problems causing bikes to shut off. I've done half a dozen or so of the Wire-Plus upgrades with no problems. Anyone run across this?
