UPDATE JACK AZZ???
Well, alright here's the latest deal; I could have sent my shit back to the factory to have the newer connectors put on the kit I have - they needed the lengths I wanted and some coin to cover the connectors, with the measurements I wanted.

I was too busy with work to get it out that day and back to them for re-work and then back to me in time for my planned trip. After I took it all out and attempted to source the mini JST connectors locally last w/e to no luck; I decide screw it, I ended up cutting that harness up myself, removed 3 of the large connectors and spliced all of my wires back together with solder and individual shrink wrap... So, I hard-wired that F*r in there with my HCI under my PDM and within the battery tray...I'm out here now trying to finish up the pwr/grd side - which I also cut up and reworked.

So obviously this is not a recommended course of action for you guys and I'm sure I'll regret that one day; but that day isn't today - I've places to go and this bike is going with me is the bottom line. I mighta been down for a bit, but I'm not out if I can help it...

I've got plenty of pictures of this mess and I'll post 'em up, for your humor, after my bike fires up....deal?

:D

Purpledog - Did your relocation of the pdm and hci work out in the long run? How did you raise the pdm? Did you have to fab some sort of bracket? I started my pdm instal last night and wanted to get things finished up and wires zip tied in soon.
Already ran the harness up the backbone and connected all the plugs up top. Ready to start plugging along the battery box but have not yet figured out where to pit the hci.
Any advice appreciated!

I haven't been around much guys - sorry about no updates.........

Anyway, I was able to squeeze the HCI under the stock (non-modified) PDM mount, within the battery box - only after I cut those large connectors off the PDM and Harness. I choose to hardwire the PDM / Harness / HCI together as I had places to go, people to do..;-)

The above procedure worked fine (other than being a f*ck'd up thing to have to do - hardwired and non-removable without wire cutters of course). Everything worked as it should. That is, until after the successful test run that a choose to put an enhanced light (nameless) on my ride at which point I quickly discovered that the stock light worked just fine and that I should have left well enough alone....:D (Cool video of my dually running over a HID kit is a separate topic)

To summarize, make sure your PDM kit has the newer revised small connectors on it (I haven't personally seen these yet btw); I can tell you that if you have those large connectors and try to install the way I described above, you won't be installing your side covers. If your not fond of having side covers - it will work. Regardless, I do not recommend installing a HID with the PDM; I base this on my personal experience only. -~700$ - check.

For the Air Ride, I simply installed a toggle switch under the left side cover to activate the compressor (on/off - no purge in my case, but that is easy too if you want it).

Hope this information helps the forum - ride well....

Peace,

/jim

Located my hci in the same place but I raised the pdm about an inch for more room. The hci I mounted on it's side for better access to the wires.
Got it all hooked up last night and everything seems to work!
Also going to mount a momentary push toggle switch for the air ride. I removed the purge valve as I never use it. Simply want to be able to pump it up to pressure.
I now need to zip tie all the wires down and clean everything up. The whole harness is about a foot longer than needed for a neat instal...but I guess it's better than being too short. I might try pulling about 8-10 inches back from the battery box and relocate some of the wires to see if it works better.
All and all it hasn't been to bad of an upgrade and nice to get rid of that ehc!
It's going on ebay as soon as I can figure out how to sell items....seems I only buy buy buy off the site!
