Parking Etiquette?

I have only been riding a couple of years now and have seen this situation a couple of times... You come out of a bar on a busy Sunday or you are at a rally where there are a million bikes parked. You find your bike a row or two behind other bikes. What is the cool thing to do here??? Is it acceptable to move a bike or two to get yours out?? I don't want to touch anyones bike as much as I don't want anyone touching mine. If someone parks in front of yours, does he/she assume you will be moving it when you are ready to leave???

Thanks!

PS. My next post will be showing you all my new DOG!

Heres my .02 I know a guy who left a bar and started his bike in gear and it lunged forward knocking over about ten bikes. He said he never picked up ten bikes so fast:roll:

I've never been in that situation but I'd say look for the owner(s).

The only way I'd move someone else's bike would be to move it out of harms way should the situation occur, same as I'd want them to do for me. (The "Golden Rule" and all that...)

Otherwise, waiting is the only thing to do. :bang:

PS I should add that I wouldn't be one of the rude assholes that parks someone in either!!!

I've been at Bike Night where I was 'closed in' due to limited bike parking. Fine with me, most folks are usually hanging around outside and when I walk over to my bike and get my stuff ready, the owner of the bike usually comes over, we chat for a bit and the bike gets moved. I have asked the owner of the bike to move it so I could get out. Never had any issues. Being polite goes a long way. :2thumbs:

I'll also add that I would NEVER move or mess with someone else's bike, unless of course there was something going on (as previously mentioned) like an accident or fire or something like that.

That comment about taking a shit on someones seat does work. I had a guy at a party that was being a complete prick. So I went into the kitchen and took a dump in his skillet. I then proceeded to start cooking it and it smelled incredibly horrible. Long story short, he was never a dick too me again because he thought I was crazy.

Wow! you guys are hard core.

Maybe make an announcement in the bar of the bikes that you would like moved (please). Sit and have one more beer. If they are still there blocking you after that, cut black wire and red wire, cross them, move bikes 2 blocks down street. Then ride out.

Etiquette?????what kinda a freakin etiquette was it for them to park in front of you to begin with?????thats just downright fukted up and ignorant, and personally i dont care how deep or shallow the parkin is i would never ever park blockin anyone in..and if i did well i guess kharma is a motherf#*ker and i can expect something just as bad in return....however that being said i would just announce somebody needs to move there shit outta the way...
