Ins. & Reg is in my wallet all the time. That way if the bike is stolen, that is one more thing they need to explain.

I have been stopped by our local Troopers :job: 3 times this summer and the question I have is where do my fellow BDM owners keep their Registeration and other needed papers when they ride? I was keeping the Reg. in a pocket, then after the sissy bar was installed and I added the T-Bag, the side pocket of that has been used. Under the seat was a thought, but that could be a hassle.

Still, there must be better places to keep these important items.
Your thoughts?

I laminated mine and keep it and my insurance info. under my battery strap.

i have a plactic zipper bag taped to the side of the battery with ins. paper, reg. papers, and pen and paper, along with emerg phone numbers. since i don't carry a wallet, just a money clip, (wallets seems to fall out of my back pocket when riding). i never worry about leaving home without those papers/ i've only had to dig them out one time, and that wasn't really a problem.
Thats what the chain is for!!

It would sure be nice if BDM hade a storage area on the bottom of the seat for paperwork.

Keep mine in my wallet and put that in my front pocket when riding (or vest pocket). Seen a few guys loose their wallets stuck in the back pants on even had one of my neighbors chained biker wallet come loose when we were riding. Beside flopping all over the place, some of the stuff got loose and he lost some money and we had to stop and find most of the papers.

Do have a good recommendation for a wallet. Something I first picked up when I went to the SandBox back in 03. It is made by Spec Ops and is one of best designed wallets out there. Can carry all important papers in it, nice and secured and organized like nothing else I have ever used. Even carry my passport in it which allowed me to book with the most critcal papers on me if I had to leave quick.

Gasman,

They have a smaller one also called the Jr. Pretty much the same but not big enough to carry the passport in. The clutch clasp is one of the nicest features of it.

One thing I do though is carry me some ziplock bag in case of the rain. Nothing worse to ride in the rain and pull out a soaked wallet with all the ink running off your favorite pics.

I find I am still keeping my paperwork in a small ziplock baggy (need to keep it waterproofed) in my touring bag strapped to the bitch bar

Going to sound weird, but in a plastic bag stuck in the cushions in my helmet. I have to wear a helmet in NY and because I wear my MP3 player I take my helmet off. Well that and so my ID resembles the ugly mug the Officer is looking at.

Xerox copies of License, reg for 2 bikes, birth cert, first aid card, accident scene mgt., insurance for US & Canada, Life HOG, all kept in a ziplock bag in my riding jacket or vest. Passport too, when I actually do go into Canada.

Wallet bacame too cumbersome...

Always worried that if I kept everything in/on the bike, and it wandered off, everything that would prove who I am and that the beasties are really mine would be gone also...

Ya have wonder why you even have to show a registeration with the advent of computers they have run your plate before you step off the scoot and they know if your packing /wanted etc...I just show my Drivers License and tell them its my bike run the plate ..most already have and don't care . But I keep a copy in my wallet in case .....yep no reason to keep any info on the bike in case it gets stolen ,

I never had side bags or sissy bar bags on any of my bikes until now so back then the only thing I always had with me was my HELMET. Seemed like the logicial place to me. There is always a piece of foam in the helmet that you can lift a little without tearing anything, so I keep the braketag, registration and any other paperwork I deem nessary there. Out of the weather, allways dry and easy to retreve.
